An episode of "All Star Revue" with Danny Thomas, Eleanor Powell, and June Havoc. Highlights include politically incorrect sketch about what would happen if the US had a female president....also, I might be wrong, but I think part of Danny Thomas' stand-up routine was also used in the 1952 remake of "The Jazz Singer". Episode is somewhat incomplete. ( 1 reviews ) Topics: Classic TV, All Star Revue, Danny Thomas, Comedy, Early Television, Kinescope

These jingles were transfered from 45rpm 7" vinyl records produced by the Allied Radio Artists company, and sent to radio stations in the 1950s. They are courtesy of the private collection of Ernie Prentice, a baritone singer from Vancouver BC who died in 1997, who appears on some of these recording sessions (no full performer or songwriter credits exist). A few have an announcer reading advertising copy on the records, but most have instrumental breaks for local radio DJ's to read over at... ( 1 reviews ) Topics: old time radio, jingles, advertising

Just a video I quickly put together of some clips of 1949 American television. A total of 9 clips in the video (the first clip is the longest). Some of the clips contained are from my own uploads, some are from other people's uploads. There's too much digital compression, so probably much better to download rather than stream this video. It is not a very good compilation, I admit. ( 2 reviews ) Topics: Classic TV, 1949, 1940s TV, 1940s Television

This wonderful film traces the steps taken in creating and shooting a television commercial for Post Grape Nuts.
